Mighty Oaks Summer Camps 2008

Join friends for a week of summer fun! Camps are designed to provide participants with a fun, safe, and enriching experience on the Oakwood School campus. Registration and emergency forms are located outside our main office as well as under our Summer Camps link on the Oakwood School website. Please print the forms and send to the main office for confirmed registration.

IT’S A BUG’S WORLD

BUGS, BUGS, BUGS!!!  You will go “buggy" after a week of bug camp with The Oakwood School Kindergarten teachers, Mrs. Byers and Mrs. Watson!  Observing bugs, digging for bugs, learning all about bugs, and “digesting” bugs are a few of the activities to be experienced in this creepy, crawly, critter adventure!

IT'S PLANTZILLA!
Greenhouse expert Jeanie Siegel will apply her green thumb skills in this fun-filled, science-based camp for the youngest of gardeners!  Plant, grow, create, and learn all about plants!  Come discover just how much fun digging in the dirt can be!

A COMPUTER ADVENTURE

If technology is your thing, this camp is for you!  Come explore the exciting world of software with the expert, Mrs. Lesnewski, a computer guru!  Experience various software programs such as iPhoto, iMovie, Graph-it, Map Machine, iTunes, Excel, Word, and much more.
Bring your own Apple Laptop or use those available in our portable lab.  A terrific way for all students to increase computer skills, especially rising Oakwood 4th graders as preparation for their very own laptops in the fall!

GIRL POWER!

Got some mid-summer blues?  Wipe the sand from your eyes and get ready for a girl bonding surprise!  Join Lorri Kessler, the "you go girl" leader, for a delightful week of hanging out with friends doing tons of cool girl things.  Enjoy a variety of activities:  Creative crafting, sensory experiments, exercise/flexercise, minding your manners and WHY, healthy snacking, polished primping, team building skills and challenges, party planning skills, and a special end of week celebration!

SUMMER DAY CAMP

Join Mrs. Lesnewski for a fun-filled “traditional” camp experience, featuring special activities and events throughout the week!
Hilarious water activities, arts and crafts, games, the creation and preparation of daily snacks, treasure hunts, science and nature exploration, and much, much more!!

*Children attending morning and afternoon camps bring lunch.  They will be supervised during the 30 minutes lunch and escorted to their afternoon camp.
