Eagle Club

The purpose of the Club is to "promote athletics at The Oakwood School in an atmosphere that is consistent with the educational philosophy of the school community.� We promote school spirit and sportsmanship and encourage attendance at Oakwood athletic events. We encourage and support the academic endeavors of Oakwood student athletes. We aid the staff in organizing and staging special events and projects and support the school staff in the areas of sports promotion, publicity, and program development. We also raise funds through concessions sales, special events, and admissions to be used to enhance the quality of the athletic program.

During the school year, we collect game admissions, sponsor "games day," sell Eagle Club Memberships, sweatshirts, sports chairs, and lots of chocolate and Pepsi products. As a result, over the years we have been able to purchase the scorers' table that we use for Volleyball and Basketball games, as well as the bleachers for the Baseball and Softball fields. During the 2008-2009 school year we purchased new volleyball nets and posts, additional basketball goals, and funded the installation of the new soccer scoreboard that was donated by Eastern Radiologists. We plan to further enhance the program this year, but we will need your help.

We hope that all members of our school community will purchase Eagle Club Memberships. If your children do not participate in the Athletic Program, they will enjoy cheering the teams on and many great lessons are learned in the stands as well as in the field. If your children are playing with us, we are also going to ask you to help us out with admissions and concessions. Remember, every dollar collected goes directly into the athletic program.
