About
The Oakwood School is a PK3, PK4, K-12, coed, non-sectarian independent school setting the bar for a 21st Century education teaching the whole child through hands-on, experiential learning.
Admissions
The Oakwood School seeks students who demonstrate characteristics consistent with the mission of the school. The goal of the admissions process is to determine whether Oakwood is a good environment for the student's social, emotional, and intellectual development.
Academics
As educators, we establish a school climate that nurtures student growth so that our students will ultimately become independent, wise, creative, thoughtful, and engaged citizens who can manage their time, work in a team, set goals, and problem solve effectively.
Athletics
At The Oakwood School, the interscholastic athletic program is an important part of the student’s experience. Oakwood is committed to providing competitive opportunities through interscholastic, recreational, and intramural sports programs.
Fine Arts
The Fine Arts programs at Oakwood offer wonderful experiences that serve as a catalyst for students to explore and realize their creative potential. We have created a very intentional arts curriculum knowing that the arts are an essential and critical part of human expression and the human experience.

Get Involved
One of the founding principles of Oakwood was to encourage parent participation and become an integral part of the school. Parent volunteer groups support our students through the generosity of their time and resources helping strengthen student programs, build community, and provide support for our faculty.

Extended Day

Continuing learning innovation beyond the regular school day, Oakwood's onsite Extended Day program is for current Oakwood students ages PK3, PK4, and K to 7th grades. Before School: 7:30 to 8:00 am and After School: Available until 6:00 p.m. You may use these services year round or a drop in basis for an additional fee billed to your FACTS account. Before School, children will be dropped off in Joyner Hall. After School, the program has a dedicated space located in Monk Hall on Oakwood's Main Campus with an exterior door entrance for convenient pick up.
