MIDDLE/UPPER SCHOOL SPRING CONCERT - The MS/US spring concert is Tuesday, May 13 at 6:30pm.  Girls are asked to wear spring dresses/skirts with no flip-flops or spaghetti straps.  Boys should wear khakis with a white shirt and tie.  Students should arrive at school by 6:00pm.

MIDDLE SCHOOL AND 9TH and 10TH GRADE  STANDARDIZED TESTING - Middle school students will be participating in the ERB Standardized Testing on Tuesday-Thursday, May 13-15 and 9th and 10th grade students will be participating in the ERB Standardized Testing on Thursday - Monday, May 15-19.  Please make sure that your students are on time and do not have any morning appointments that will conflict with the testing schedule.

THE OAKWOOD SCHOOL ATHLETIC BANQUET - Please make sure you RSVP for the Athletic Banquet by this Friday, May 9 to sbranch@theoakwoodschool.org.  The banquet will be at the Rock Springs Center Ballroom at 6:00pm.  The cost is $30 per guest and the athlete's meal is free (sponsored by The Eagle Club).  Game day attire for all athletes.

MOTHER'S DAY PLANT SALE - There will be a plant sale this Thursday and Friday, May 8-9 from 2:30-3:45 on the walkway.  Miss Rogers and The Girl Scouts are teaming up to raise money for next years Arbor Day tree.  We will have a variety of house plants, herbs and flowering plants. Plants will be priced from $0.50-$10.00. Please contact Tracy Rogers at trogers@theoakwoodschool.org for more details.  Students and parents can purchase these plants on the walkway after school.

LOST AND FOUND - The lost and found box is overflowing!  Please take a few moments this Thursday through Monday, May 8-12 to look at the lost and found items that will be displayed on the breezeway.  Any item that has a name will be returned.  Please mark your student's items so that we may return these things if lost in the future.  Anything left after Monday will be donated to Salvation Army.

HELP THE H.O.M.E. PROJECT - The Upper School Student Government is in charge of the H.O.M.E. Project, which stands for Helping Our Military Endure, and needs your help.  Please donate any extra school supplies that you have left over from this school year (that do not have cartoons or religious symbols on them).  Also, handwritten letters and handmade cards (adressed to either the troops or the children) would be greatly appreciated.  The school supplies go to the Iraqi school children who have been greatly affected by the war.  There are donation boxes in all the school buildings and in the main office.  Thanks for your help.

DRIVERS EDUCATION - Oakwood will be sponsoring Driver's Education classes during the week of June 16-20 from 8:00am-2:00pm.  Students must be 14 years old by Feb. 16 to enroll in the class.  The cost of the course is $250 and a deposit of $50 is due by May 8.  If you are interested in enrolling please pick up a form from the front office or the Upper School building.  For questions please contact Elaine Price-Schwartz at 758-8069.

COUNSELING WORKSHOP - The workshop planned for May 19 on Sticky Situations has been cancelled due to a scheduling conflict.  We apologize for any inconveniences.  Thank you for your support in the previous workshops.

SPREAD THE WORD!  We are pleased to announce that we'll be offering a Full Day option for our PreK program in 08-09:  We will have an option for a maximum of 8 students who can stay until 2:30 - 4:00 pm for an additional $1,500, making the tuition $6,000.  (The cost is the same no matter what time you pick up your child between 2:30 and 4:00).   After 4:00 the children can stay as late as 6:00pm, but will be charged the hourly Extended Day amount.  Class activities for the children who do not leave at noon will include lunch, outside playtime, rest period, snack, and activity centers.  Contact Emily Prokopowicz in admissions for information or an application.
