Capital Campaign

Periodic capital campaigns raise additional non-operating funds for major efforts like new construction, capital improvements, debt reduction, and endowment.  These funds can significantly enhance and improve facilities, faculty salaries, and financial aid.  Capital contributions are generally pledged and paid over three to five years.  To the best of your ability we hope that you can support both the Capital Campaign and Annual Fund.  Because the Annual Fund covers immediate operating expenses, we ask that you make it your philanthropic priority and that capital gifts be made in addition to your gift to the Annual Fund.

Of course, we acknowledge to the fullest extent all gifts in our ongoing recognition programs and publications.  In addition, The Oakwood School recognizes the cumulative gifts of our more generous donors who are invited and honored at our Major Donor Appreciation gatherings, hosted by our Head of School.

The Oakwood School Proudly Announces…
2011-2014 Capital Campaign "Securing Oakwood's Future"

Campaign Priorities

A capital campaign is designed to raise money for specific School needs and is executed periodically over a long-term basis.  This is different from the Annual Fund and other fundraising events, which take place yearly to meet a balanced operational budget, helping to keep tuition down.  The goal of "Securing Oakwood's Future" is to raise $1.5 million dollars over a three-year period.  There are four strategic components of the campaign:

  • $500,000 for debt reduction
  • $250,000 to purchase land
  • $500,000 for program development
  • $250,000 to establish an endowment

See the "Securing Oakwood's Future" PowerPoint presentation below for a summary and CLICK HERE for a more detailed brochure.

"Securing Oakwood's Future" is a critical campaign.  We urge you to consider the importance of this effort and pledge payable over three years.  Thank you for your support of Oakwood.  Your contribution to the School is imperative to our continued growth.  Your dollars make Oakwood's future even brighter.

The Oakwood School is proud to recognize and appreciate the following volunteers who have led this successful Capital Campaign effort to date:

Campaign Giving Levels, Naming Opportunities, and Endowments

There are several Capital Campaign Giving Levels and Campus Naming Opportunities available to recognize our major donors.  In addition, there are ongoing Endowment Naming Opportunities as well.  All are listed below.

Once all funds are received, an individual engraved plaque will be added to memorialize the naming of designated campus area(s), as well as inclusion on our major donor engraved wall plaque at the School.  Endowment naming opportunities will be recognized similarly.  Of course, we acknowledge to the fullest extent all gifts in our ongoing recognition programs and publications.  The Oakwood School recognizes the cumulative gifts of our more generous donors who are invited and honored at our Major Donor Appreciation gatherings, hosted by our Head of School.
