The Oakwood School is an independent, non-sectarian, college preparatory school for grades Pre-K-12 that prepares its students by teaching a 21^st Century education through integrated, experiential and collaborative learning.
Admissions
The Oakwood School seeks students who demonstrate characteristics consistent with the mission of the school. The goal of the admissions process is to determine whether Oakwood is a good environment for the student's social, emotional, and intellectual development.
Academics
As educators, we establish a school climate that nurtures student growth so that our students will ultimately become independent, wise, creative, thoughtful, and engaged citizens who can manage their time, work in a team, set goals, and problem solve effectively.
Campus Life
More than a school, Oakwood knows that what is experienced and learned outside of the classrooms is often just as important as what our students learn in class. Oakwood develops children who care about the world around them. This is teaching the whole child.
Athletics
At The Oakwood School, the interscholastic athletic program is an important part of the student’s experience. Oakwood is committed to providing competitive opportunities through interscholastic, recreational, and intramural sports programs.
Fine Arts
The Fine Arts programs at Oakwood offer wonderful experiences that serve as a catalyst for students to explore and realize their creative potential. We have created a very intentional arts curriculum knowing that the arts are an essential and critical part of human expression and the human experience.

Facilities

Outdoor

Oakwood's outdoor playing facilities are known to be simply some of the best in the state in general and especially in the Independent School world. The result of a commitment to outstanding athletic facilities by generous donors and the school, all our fields are top notch. As a result, we often are asked to host State Finals.

TO HOST STATE FINALS IS A VERY BIG STATEMENT. THE NCISAA IS VERY SELECTIVE WHERE THEY CHOOSE TO HOLD THE FINALS. - ATHLETIC DIRECTOR AMY GARDNER

OUR FIELDS ARE THE ONLY FIELDS AROUND THAT CAN BE PLAYED ON AFTER IT RAINS CAUSE THEY ARE DRY. EVERY AWAY TEAM THAT PLAYS HERE HAS FIELD ENVY. - ASSOCIATE ATHLETIC DIRECTOR JEFF PISCORIK.

Indoor

Modern gymnasium for volleyball and basketball contests; often hosts Volleyball State Tournaments.

Weight Room

A dedicated room and instructor for proper strength training.
