About
The Oakwood School is a PK3-12, coed, non-sectarian independent school in Greenville, NC, setting the bar with hands-on, experiential learning that teaches the whole child.
Admissions
The Oakwood School seeks students who demonstrate characteristics consistent with the mission of the school. The goal of the admissions process is to determine whether Oakwood is a good environment for the student's social, emotional, and intellectual development.
Academics
As educators, we establish a school climate that nurtures student growth so that our students will ultimately become independent, wise, creative, thoughtful, and engaged citizens who can manage their time, work in a team, set goals, and problem solve effectively.
Athletics
At The Oakwood School, the interscholastic athletic program is an important part of the student’s experience. Oakwood is committed to providing competitive opportunities through interscholastic, recreational, and intramural sports programs.
Fine Arts
The Fine Arts programs at Oakwood offer wonderful experiences that serve as a catalyst for students to explore and realize their creative potential. We have created a very intentional arts curriculum knowing that the arts are an essential and critical part of human expression and the human experience.
Giving
At Oakwood, our goal is to shape our students to be: people of integrity, lifelong learners, leaders, confident individuals, empathetic citizens of the world, disciplined, insightful, and courageous thinkers and learners. It is Oakwood’s vibrant culture of philanthropy that has sustained our ability to fulfill this goal.
Get Involved
One of the founding principles of Oakwood was to encourage parent participation and become an integral part of the school. Parent volunteer groups support our students through the generosity of their time and resources helping strengthen student programs, build community, and provide support for our faculty.

Fine Arts Support Team

The Fine Arts Support Team supports Oakwood’s Art, Music, and Theater faculty and students in a variety of ways, including fundraising to purchase equipment/supplies, send students to arts events, and provide faculty development opportunities, helping faculty with classroom activities, selling tickets/concessions at our Main Stage musical, and preparing for the Lower, Middle, and Upper School concerts and the Art Show.
