International Students

Welcome to The Oakwood School, where global connections become lifelong friendships. Our International Student Program offers students from around the world a chance to experience American culture, education, and community in a safe, welcoming, and adventure-filled environment!
Why Choose Oakwood?
At Oakwood, the international student experience extends far beyond the classroom. Students are immersed in a close-knit school community and have the opportunity to truly experience life in the United States. Located in Greenville, North Carolina, Oakwood is just a short drive from both the Atlantic Ocean and the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains, with Washington, D.C. only four hours away. Whether it’s celebrating American holidays with host families, checking out the ECU Pirates, exploring new cities, or participating in school events, our international students make lasting memories while improving their English and expanding their worldviews!
How to Apply
Oakwood is proud to partner with iE (International Experience) and Global Horizons to welcome international students. Interested students should begin their application process through one of these organizations. Each program oversees application requirements, including transcripts, English language proficiency, and placement logistics.

International students coming to Oakwood have been fully vetted by their sponsoring organizations, and are interviewed and accepted by the Oakwood administration based on their language skills, academic record, and enthusiasm for being at Oakwood and in the United States.
