The Oakwood School is a PK3-12, coed, non-sectarian independent school in Greenville, NC, setting the bar with hands-on, experiential learning that teaches the whole child.
Admissions
The Oakwood School seeks students who demonstrate characteristics consistent with the mission of the school. The goal of the admissions process is to determine whether Oakwood is a good environment for the student's social, emotional, and intellectual development.
Academics
Through inquiry-based, hands-on learning, students are encouraged to ask questions, think critically, solve problems, and explore new ideas. In a world that is constantly evolving, we believe the greatest education equips students not only with knowledge, but with the curiosity, adaptability, and confidence to succeed long after graduation.
Athletics
At The Oakwood School, the interscholastic athletic program is an important part of the student’s experience. Oakwood is committed to providing competitive opportunities through interscholastic, recreational, and intramural sports programs.
Fine Arts
The Fine Arts programs at Oakwood offer wonderful experiences that serve as a catalyst for students to explore and realize their creative potential. We have created a very intentional arts curriculum knowing that the arts are an essential and critical part of human expression and the human experience.

It is Oakwood’s vibrant culture of philanthropy that has sustained our ability to fulfill this goal.
Get Involved
One of the founding principles of Oakwood was to encourage parent participation and become an integral part of the school. Parent volunteer groups support our students through the generosity of their time and resources helping strengthen student programs, build community, and provide support for our faculty.
